RELEASE NOTES / 2.26.2–2.28.0
Channel tab: what placement changed, money by segment and niche RPM 2.0
The dashboard shows the effect of each placement against videos nobody touched. “What changed” is now about money, the season covers a year with last year alongside, and niche RPM opens with one button.
- Changes and results. For each placement, “interruptive” flag and monetization change: the video’s RPM and daily views for 14 days before and after. Compared with videos nobody touched in those days: “helped”, “no clear effect” or “views dropped”, with an estimate in money. It is an estimate, not proof of cause.
- Several channels. The channel name in the header, a switcher and an “All channels” row. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.
- “Month” period: from the 1st against the same days of last month. Studio still revises the last 1–2 days, so they are marked “preliminary”.
- “What changed” is about money. Each segment shows its share of views, share of revenue and RPM; countries also show the share of views with ads. Above the chart, the main point in one sentence: “Shorts: 22% of views — 0.6% of revenue”.
- A year of seasonality. 12 months of actuals, a circle for the same month a year ago, a hint for next month and the usual AdSense payment dates.
- Matrix in groups: money, revenue formula, audience, changes. New rows: non-ad revenue, revenue per 1,000 watch hours, CPM, watch hours, average view, subscriber change.
- Niche RPM 2.0. A “Show niche RPM” button replaces the switch, and what will be sent to the server is shown next to it before you click. Your place in the niche in words, the difference in money at the same views, the niche market in “Why revenue changed” and a social-media image without amounts.
- One name: “ad impressions”, as in Studio. CPM per 1,000 ad impressions and playback-based CPM are no longer mixed up.
- Pro switches in “Intervals” without a key are shown off with a Pro label, so placement no longer silently falls back to the time grid.
- Motion only when the period or channel changes, never longer than 240 ms; “reduce motion” in the system turns it off.
What goes to the server for niche RPM and the paid dashboard blocks — in the data policy (version of 27 October).
The current version 2.28.1 is available to install.
